Nishali Patel

Speaker Bio

Nishali Patel is a Clinical Lead and Clinical Safety Officer in the Digital Medicines programme at NHS England. She is a Cancer Pharmacist by background with over a decade of clinical experience, alongside more than seven years of leadership in national digital health programmes. Recently Nishali has played a central role in delivering some of the NHS’s most significant digital medicines initiatives. She led the development and national rollout of ‘Digital Prescriptions’ in the NHS App and is currently driving the adoption of Prescription Tracking as an enhancement to the feature, designed to give patients clearer visibility of their medicines journey. Nishali spearheaded delivery of the first Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) in Homecare proof of concept in 2025, a trailblazing achievement in response to the homecare inquiry to support safer, more streamlined patient care. Her broader portfolio includes leading the high profile Digital COVID Test Programme as well as shaping the future vision for the Electronic Referral Service demonstrating her commitment to user centred and scalable service design. A Darzi Fellow alum, Nishali is recognised for her clinical insight, execution-focused leadership and dedication to improving healthcare through service transformation.
