The National Clinical Homecare Association (NCHA) welcomes the Scottish Government’s independent review of medicines homecare in Scotland, to evaluate and better understand the impact of clinical homecare services on patients and society.

We are pleased to see the review acknowledging the positive experiences of so many patients in Scotland, reflecting the high standards of care delivered by clinical homecare providers. As the trade body representing all 19 of the UK’s national clinical homecare providers, the NCHA is committed to supporting the continued development of homecare services to ensure even greater benefits for patients.

For over 30 years, the NCHA and its members have been at the forefront of delivering high-quality clinical homecare, helping to move care closer to home in line with current UK government ambitions.

The NCHA stands ready to support stakeholders in Scotland, and across the rest of the UK, to support the future development and evolution of clinical homecare services. We also welcome the review’s recognition of the importance of Scotland’s involvement in shaping the future of clinical homecare at a UK-wide level. With homecare services operating across all four nations, collaboration between Scotland, the wider NHS, and industry partners is key to ensuring a sustainable, high-quality service that maximises benefits for patients and healthcare systems alike.

The NCHA looks forward to working with stakeholder in Scotland to continue this important conversation.
